Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of ten are said to be at face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely appear as the two hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of 7 … 5 gives a value of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card may be given out depending on the following protocols:
- If the bettor or banker has a total of 8 or 9, then both players stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores wins. Victorious stakes on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie customarily pays 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is not a good bet as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are richly better – nine to 1 vs. eight to one)
Played effectively, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Monitoring of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and probably most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 method. This process is used to boost winnings and cutting back risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you lose on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
